Youth H.O.P.E Month

Standing Together for Safe, Affirming Youth Housing

November is Youth H.O.P.E. Month at Dallas Hope Charities. Every young person deserves a safe place to sleep, a supportive community, and an environment where they can thrive as their authentic selves. Unaffirming or hostile environments are a direct form of rejection that push youth into housing instability and homelessness.Throughout November, Dallas Hope Charities is centering our work around H.O.P.E.—addressing critical needs today while building systemic, affirming solutions for tomorrow.

H – Homelessness: Defining housing as a human right and providing safe, affirming shelter for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in crisis.

O – Outreach: Meeting youth where they are through community engagement, essential care, and safe social spaces.

P – Prevention: Proactive solutions, anti-bullying advocacy, and education to stop youth housing loss before it occurs.

E – Education: Uplifting youth leadership, policy awareness, and equipping our community to take action year-round.

Ride Out Intimidation: BRP Yellow Day

#RideOutIntimidation

On November 5th, Dallas Hope Charities is partnering with BRP for Yellow Day, a global initiative dedicated to standing up against intimidation and bullying. For young people experiencing homelessness, non-affirming environments are a dangerous form of systemic rejection.

Wearing yellow is a visual statement that our community is a safe, affirming harbor for all youth.

How to Participate:

  1. Wear Yellow on Nov 5th: Put on a yellow shirt, jacket, or hold a sign that reads “[Your Name/Org] Stands Against Intimidation.”
  2. Post & Tag: Share your photo on LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook using #RideOutIntimidation.
  3. Submit Your Photo to Us: Email your photo to hope@dallashopecharities.org to be featured in our campaign gallery!

Cold Weather Drive: Gear & Career Apparel

Supporting Youth Stability Through Winter Survival and Professional Readiness

As winter approaches, staying warm is a matter of survival—and having access to professional attire opens doors to career stability. Throughout November, we are collecting gently used or new items across two vital focus areas:

1. Essential Winter Gear: Heavy jackets, winter coats, blankets, scarves, beanies/hats, gloves, ear warmers, and hand warmers.

2. Professional Career Apparel: Blazers, dress coats, sweaters, and long-sleeve tops to equip youth for job interviews and workplace success.
